Dracula is still on Holiday - Film Screenings



Dracula on Holiday Screen at Inverness Eden Court Cinema from the 17th, 18th and 19th of December for the Happy Holiday Season. An introduction to the Story Cast and Crew and Locations follows.

Dracula goes on Holiday to reform his ways with his companions choosing Scotland for the trip. Along the way they learn the wonders of life away from the Transylvanian castle when Dracula remembers what it is like to be in the world free of troubles. Starring Ed Ward and Suzanne Kendall, Chris Bearne and Maurice Byrne. 

Synopsis 

Travelling from Transylvania to Scotland by train, the Count’s Partner; Lucy and their butler; Renfield manage to surprise the count with humble dwellings; very different to his usual abode where they try and help the count step out of the 1600’s and into 2019, hoping to get him over his many fears – sunlight, crosses, bibles, running water, garlic, food and drink. As the trip goes on and he meets Flora Goddaming – The daughter of the local undertaker – Learning from the child and his new surroundings, the Count begins to find life again after so long, although his wife has something to say about his new self and threatens to ruin everything for the Count and Lucy Can Lucy and The Count have the life they dream of? In this Family Fun Comedy set in the hillside of Scotland. Link to Trailer 

CAST 

Ed Ward 

Ed Ward, was born in Cheshire, England in 1978. A keen rugby player and lover of the arts, he first went on stage when he attended the King's School Worcester and joined the drama society at the age of 13. He went on to Trinity College Dublin, where he performed in several English and French- speaking plays. He's had main roles in many plays in London and the West End stage and was once described as "a whirlwind of energy, captivating and dangerous". He now mainly acts on screen and plays various eclectic characters from posh Sloanes', violent Russian villains, drunken war journalists, to off-beat comic types, such as an archetypal barnstorming English hippy in the film A Facebook Romance that won him the award for best supporting male actor at the Monaco International Film Festival. Ed has also been deeply convincing as a British military leader on screen. Hardly recognizable, he even turned his hand to play a feisty young Winston Churchill in the Great Arab Revolt. 

Suzanne Kendall

Suzanne Kendall is an English actress who was born in rural Somerset. She started acting at an early age. After exploring a theatre set at a holiday resort as a small child, she decided she’d like to become an actress. Her first love was theatre and she acted in many plays to gain experience for drama school. She attended the Bridge Theatre Training Company in London, England, and not long after graduating, scored a lead role in a feature film, playing the troublesome, murderous farmer, Minnie Tucker in ‘Seven Crosses’. This experience stimulated more film work, and over the next decade, Suzanne played numerous leads and supporting roles in many independent, British feature films. She has worked alongside such actors as Emily Bergl (Desperate Housewives), Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy), Guy Siner (‘Allo, ‘Allo & Pirates of The Caribbean),and most recently can be seen playing Nurse Ali alongside Luke Goss (Blade II, Hellboy II) in the new comedy drama, ‘The Loss Adjuster’. Chris Bearne

Chris Bearne is an actor and producer, known for Mortdecai (2015), Rebecca (2020) and Grantchester (2014) Chris Bearne Renfield 

Edith Glad

Edith Glad plays Flora Goddaming. Edith is an actor known for The Right Bus and Satsuma. Edith is also an accomplished dancer with skills ranging from ballet and tap to acrobatics, having trained for many years with Aberdeen Academy of Performing Arts and several well-known professionals. Her stage experience includes a large number of dance competitions, musical theatre, theatre, and ballet productions amongst others. She is now also a member of the Fusion Youth Dance Company. 

Joe Rainbow

Joe Rainbow studied acting at East 15 Drama School. Joe has enjoyed a varied career, starring in a plethora of features, shorts, ads and other projects. He's been chased by a bear in Hungary, toured Rajasthan with some of India's finest musicians and leapt into an Icelandic plunge pool in sub-zero temperatures. Joe has always been drawn to the other side of the camera, with an interest in both camera work and directing. Working with the close-knit and dynamic Palm Tree team has inspired and allowed him to acquire and develop his camera skills and given him the opportunity to put them into action. As well as playing the character of Stewart in Dracula on Holiday, it will also be his second foray into the world of film as an assistant camera operator. Joe Rainbow also plays the role of Stewart in Dracula on Holiday. 

Apple Yang

British Chinese actress, artist, and producer, born in China and raised in a high-ranking military family. She grew up under China's controversial One child policy' and was trained in Chinese Theatre, Performing Arts and Dance. She currently lives in the north of England with her family. Apple Yang works globally, especially across both Europe and Asia. Originally focusing on Theatre and Dance, her time in the UK has also provided her with the platform to explore an intuitive and innovative approach to her own artistic practice focusing on dance body movement and space.

Production Team 

Robbie Moffat

Writer, Director and Producer Robbie Moffat was born in Glasgow, educated Sir John Maxwell Primary and Shawlands Academy. Degree in English Language and Literature from Newcastle University. Poet, novelist, playwright, screenwriter-director of theatre and screen-movies producer. His first movie was 35mm Love The One You're With which was nominated for a Bowmore Award. Thereafter his film output has been prolific from like the Winter Warrior, Bone Hunter and Axe Raiders, Red Rose, Villains, Heckle, Oh My God and many many more imcluding Dracula on Holiday. In 2004, Robbie moved his company to Pinewood Studios with his co-producer Mairi Sutherland. To date the company has made more than 25 feature films.

Dean M Drinkel 

Assistant Director Dean M. Drinkel is a published author, editor, award-winning scriptwriter and film director. He was also Associate Editor of FEAR Magazine. He has been selected to attend The Script Factory’s SCENE INSIDERS programme (2005), two BFI project labs (2019 – writing & producing), two Story futures (immersive technology - 2020) labs as well as in December 2020, a Sundance Institute programme in TV writing (running early 2021). He is an active member of both the WGGB’s Film & TV committees and is currently attached to a number of short and feature film projects which will now see production from mid-2021 onwards. 

Rachael Sutherland 

Associate Producer and Production coordinator. Rachael Sutherland had her first introduction to the film industry in 1998 as a child actress in Love the One You're With. She then went on to work on various productions, starring in the Trilogy: Winter Warrior, Bone Hunter and Axe Raiders, as the daughter of Warrior Fingal in the part of Ethne . As well as other roles in Finding Fortune, Red Rose, and Rain Dogs she completed a 2-year Acting Course. Then she decided to try behind the camera out as Production Assistant on the film Photoshoot. After a 10 year break, she returned to the film industry again behind the scenes as Production Coordinator for the first time in Dracula On Holiday. 

Mairi Sutherland Executive Producer 

Mairi Sutherland has over fifteen years of experience in film production. Beginning as a freelance radio reporter with BBC Scotland where she developed a successful career as a documentary features writer, presenter for radio broadcasts on BBC Scotland and Radio 5 in the UK. In 1995, she joined the independent film sector, where she gained experience working with Clan Wallace who was the fighting extras, technical assistance, and inspiration for Oscar-winning film Braveheart. While with ' The Clan she worked on ' The Bruce' starring Oliver Reed. In 1996 she joined Palm Tree Productions to work on publicity and marketing becoming a shareholder and co-owner. Soon she was to co-produce over 21 films during a decade in film production working with Producer business partner, veteran filmmaker, Robbie Moffat. Mairi now has credits as Producer, co-Producer, Executive Producer, Writer, and Director. She has also written, directed two feature films, Photoshoot and Going Green. As a screenwriter, she is known for the film Red Rose about poet Robert Burns. 

Last but not Least the Location

Dracula on Holiday was shot in Inverness, Strathpeffer, Dingwall, and Beauly in the Highlands of Scotland. We would like to thank everyone there who helped in the local community and now they get the chance to see the film at their local cinema in Inverness on the weekend before Christmas from Friday 17th to 18th and 19th December. Hoping they have a surprise and enjoy seeing the locations they helped to set up.
